The Isle of Wight Zoo is home to 18 tigers (including 1 white). This makes it one of the largest collections in Europe. It also houses lions, leopards, jaguars, primates, and reptiles. This privately owned zoo was set up in the 1970’s and run by Jack Corney. Today it is run by his daughter Charlotte, with one clear mission: ‘To promote the survival of endangered species through first class educational and recreational experiences, exemplary animal management, conservation and research’ .

“Tiger Island” joins the Isle of Wight zoo’s busy working atmosphere and follows all rescue stories and animal treatment.

From the humorous to the shocking, drama’s great and small; this series follows the devoted team who tirelessly dedicate their lives to help some of the most beautiful creatures on the planet.
