In this exciting new series, Edwin Wiek seeks out cases of animal abuse across Thailand, from the streets of Bangkok to the crowded beaches and forested interior. His team already has its work cut out caring for 500 creatures at his animal rescue centre but Edwins not content to stay and wait for animals to arrive. As we follow the life of vets and volunteers at the rescue centre, he sets out with a mission to rescue bears and monkeys from the tourist trade, elephants being mistreated in agriculture and animals that were never meant to be pets.

In one episode Edwin Wiek visits a zoo on the roof of a shopping mall, which animal protection activists unsuccessfully try to close for several years. Brown bears, leopards, parrots, orangutans, gorillas, chimpanzees, locked in tight cages — many of the animals are close to extinction. In another zoo, Edwin sees a orangutans boxing show that gathers hundreds of people. “To be honest, when I see that, I really feel that I can’t be proud to be human being some times”, Edwin says.

Meanwhile, in the animal rescue centre, a team of specialists examines the rescued cubs of a giant tortoise and prepares a python for his life in freedom. Together with the staff, we saying goodbye to the sloth and python as releasing them to free life in the tropical forests of Thailand.
