Return of the White Lions

White lions are rarely seen in the wild, but around 500 live in captivity. Now, the Global White Lion Protection Trust plans to introduce some into a nature reserve. White lions carry a recessive gene that gives them their white coats. We also follow researchers trying to identify a genetic marker to prove the white lion is an endangered sub-species. If this marker exists, they will be protected and preserved.
