We look at the evolution of the horse and its present day physical make-up. The most endless varieties of types, sizes and colours of horses provide the rich array of investigations. We delve into horse behaviour, communication, expression, temperament, moods, likes and dislikes. And all of these is examined in the context of the horse and its human owner or companion. We visit horses where they work and play and where people have an active role in the horse's life.

The two-way connection between horse and owner will provide for lots of interesting conversations accompanied by visual demonstrations. Through 6 hours of detailed listening and looking based on extensive narrative and visual research, the filmmaker exploits the television medium to pull the audience of youth and adults into an indepth experience of one of our most interesting, but perhaps most taken-for-granted animal companions.

The farmers, the riders, the jockeys and the mounted police: these are the people who share their horse partnership with the filmmaker and with the television vewer. Through lasting images and provocative insights, not to mention plenty of good humour, "The Horse" aimes to create a stirring and unforgettable encounter with a complex and noble animal
