Animals Inside Out

  • Title: Animals Inside Out
  • Duration: 2 × 60’ HD
  • Producer: Spain

In these two chapters, The Attack and The Defense, we delve into the animal mind trying to understand the different ways of perceiving life. The series describes how various species feel fear or stress, how they understand time or danger specifically at crucial moments: when predators go hunting and the prey is threatened with death...

How much awareness is there in wildlife? Are animals capable of understanding the risks involved in living each day? When there is no time to think, do only sequenced behaviors allow survival? We will look inside out at the wild mind!

Episodes

The Attack (Episode 1)

Beyond the chimpanzee, does any other animal go hunting without first seeing its prey? How is the way of thinking of snakes or lions or wild dogs structured? There are beings that hunt on the prowl and others that chase their victims, but do animals really decide on hunting strategies at all times or do they instinctively adapt to each circumstance in their attacks?

We will see how the predator associates and memorizes those details that lead to success and how it discards what supposes failure.

The Defense (Episode 2)

All animals are potentially prey for another animal at some point in their lives. What is more effective to survive, fear, intelligence or instinct? The combination of these factors with genetics and experience are essential to avoid the predator.

There are species that disguise their shape or color so as not to be seen, others know how to hide and some can escape at high speed or just become immobilized, but can animals choose their defense tactic in each situation? And, do they know that they will die if they act wrong?
