Rain: The Untold Story
Life on Earth would not be possible without rain. Although water covers most of the earth, 97% of it is sea water. Rain supports life on land by supplying salt-free water that we can drink.
Rain, or the lack of it has shaped and destroyed civilizations since antiquity, and now climate change is changing the patterns of rainfall with deadly effect.
In this series of three one-hour documentaries each programme will revolve around a different theme:
1. Understanding Rain: the science of rain and rainfall prediction
2. The Impact of Rain: our evolving cultural relationship with rain
3. The Value of Rain: the global lack of freshwater, and future solutions
