A Question of Love?

Most animals have the ability to build social connections: the protective instinct of a mother bear towards her cubs, the attraction between the leader of a wolf pack and his mate, the network of relationships among a group of chimpanzees... We have created the terms to describe bonds, such as friendship or love. But are animals able to feel the way humans do?
