Bob Blumer is the creator and host of award winning shows “Glutton for Punishment” and “Surreal Gourmet”. In his new show the “World’s Weirdest Restaurants” Bob circles the globe in his quest to find the weird and wackiest off-the-wall eateries, crazy characters and extreme cuisine. Every episode is a collage of 4 different restaurants from different parts of the world so you get a taste of completely different styles of weird restaurants from all over the place in one episode, it’s pretty fast paced and rockem sockem.
Eating out used to be all about the food on offer, but as diners get more demanding it isn’t enough for restaurants just to create tasty menus. Competing for customers today means offering a whole eating experience including eye-catching entertainment, one-off cocktails and OTT themes — meaning and wacky restaurant trends are becoming the norm. Want your chicken flambéed, hurled through the air on a catapult, then skewered mid-flight by a unicycle-riding server? Or your sushi served to you by a dancing robot? Would you like to eat the bust of a Ukrainian soldier, sculpted from a pound of pure pig fat? Bob Blumer experiences all this and more as he returns to host this crowd-pleasing series in which each episode showcases four of the world’s most jaw-dropping, show-stopping, taste-topping restaurants.
