Wonder Dogs
“Wonder Dogs” brings a blend of comedy, warmth, unpredictability, spectacular locations and a wide variety of dogs facing all kinds of challenges! “Wonder Dogs” is consistently reliable, fun television that both adults and children can enjoy together.
“Wonder Dogs” features all kinds of breeds ranging from Dalmatians and Hungarian Vizslas to Heading Dogs, Border Collies and German Shepherds. The dogs have to be masters of the canine universe, skilled at all the challenges: Running, jumping, agility, swimming, retrieving, weaving and being obedient.
The dogs are put through their paces with three challenges in the form of a clever agility course, a variety of fun obedience exercises, and some water retrieving. They have to compete in heats, semi-finals and the grand final in their quest to be New Zealand's genuine Wonder Dog.
Another feature of “Wonder Dogs” is a regular visit with “Dog listener” Jan Fennel, who has great success understanding the language of the dog and sorting out behavioral problems. The series also includes other dog-related stories, including the latest craze “Dances with dogs”, where dogs and their handlers perform choreographed routines to music.
