The Elephants Next Door
They are the world’s largest animals. They can live for up to 70 years. They have 150,000 muscle units in their trunk. Their skin is 2.5 cm thick. They consume 150 kg of food per day. Their gestation period is 24 months. And they never forget... These magnificent animals are Elephants.
Some 415,000 African elephants roam the wilds today. This documentary series, set in the remote North-Western parts of Botswana, aims to explore human-elephant coexistence.
We investigate whether it’s possible for wild elephants along with local villagers and farmers to co-exist in harmony.
