Offering a window into the playful and eventful lives of young animals, this new series follows newborn creatures in some of France’s most beautiful zoos as they make the uncertain transition through infancy and childhood. Informative and entertaining with a huge dose of the ahhh factor, this 10-part series is a great watch for all the family.

Filmed in a range of safari parks and zoos, the animal sanctuaries featured in this series are among Frances finest. Head to Peaugres Safari in the Rhone valley, where squirrel-monkey babies go ape over sweets, cheetah cubs ready themselves for a race and a reluctant baby tapir takes a bath. Meanwhile, in Auvergne, a young ibex plays hide and seek among the rocks and a baby lynx proves it would rather be anywhere than at the vets. Cute bear cubs prepare for their first winter and baby marmosets get their first taste of fresh crickets at Thoiry animal park while, at Boissiere-du-Dore zoo, a young orangutan tries to follow in his big brother’s footsteps and two rhino calves see the world for the first time.

From snow leopards and lions, to camels and sea lions, this series follows a range of species as they learn to walk, wash, feed and play. As well as capturing the biggest milestones of their early lives, it also explores the admirable work of these extraordinary French zoos, the very different ways they care for and nurture their young residents, and their fight to preserve endangered species.
